Monmore Puppy Derby

Tomorrow sees's the start of my favourite competition the Monmore Puppy Derby. It would be great to have a runner in this classic competition one year. I have been very lucky in backing the last three winners at antepost long odds. Ballymac Pires (Pictured) ( through association of owning another dogs in the kennel), Ballymac Charlie ( as previous) and Rough Ronaldinho ( caught my eye in the Trial stakes). From the four that caught my eye in the Trial Stakes - Burnpark Champ is 14/1, Barnfield Loreto 14/1, Gold Whisperer 20/1, Coolavanny Train is 66/1 .

The field is headed by Racing Post Puppy Championship winner Ballymac Under who recorded 28.69 over the course and distance in a trial before racing last Thursday. His sectional was an 4.40 sec, this competion takes no prisoners so he will need a clear run round the first two bends.
His kennelmate Ardmayle Champ an eye-catching second to Ninja Jamie in only his second race of the year was also put through his paces trapping very well he ran the course superbly to register a slick 28.54.
