Belle heading to Maldini

Paul called this morning from Drumscraw Kennels to report Belle has come in to season again. She has been leading the older pups up the local gallop so you must think that has helped her come in to season. The news came at a good time as my flight to Holland had just been cancelled!

Paul as always asked for our opinions on which sire to use, having Top Honcho in the pedigree it can be difficult or less say more restrictive. After some pondering Paul has booked Droopys Maldini (left).

The early feedback on Maldini was not encouraging and if you look up his top offspring he is only currently hitting 5%. On the upside just look at the
Farloe Oyster litter. They are amazing and seriously pacey.

I recently highlighted a nice dog called Barnfield Loreto whom I saw at Monmore putting in some serious work after a slow start and could well feature in the Monmore Puppy Derby. Among the same litter is Droopys Carvalho (29.05 winner at Shelbourne, Droopys Enzo (28.38 Monmore Puppy Derby Trial Stake winner), Droopys Mikel (28.17 A1 Winner Monmore). If you study the pedigree of the above and others it appears there is a nick to exploit by crossing the Larkhill Jo sire line over Top Honcho bitches. This cross also contains a nice cross double of Daleys Gold and Im Slippy appears three times on the fifth pedigree line, hopefully a nice injection of early pace will result. Exciting times ahead!!!
