Felines Fear Debut

Felines Fear "aka Jameson" made his long awaited debut this evening at Monmore. With four of the syndicate present he came away from traps in reasonable fashion to chase hard the eventual winner. He showed some reasonable pace and appeared to be trying his best to finish a good second. He has a very strange action, a giraffe sprinting rang a bell! He did seem to tire off the last bend and did fade after the line. Part 2 next week. In summary, a promising debut but won't be winner any Derbys ! We have 5 passes which each admits 2 people. I have allocated 1 to Foxy and 1 to Heather and they are likely to attend more than most. Please just mail me when you would like a pass.

Qualified

Jameson (Felines Fear) finished 2nd this morning in his final qualifying trial at Monmore. Most importantly his time was 30.14 which is a qualifying time to start racing. Running from trap 2 he was slow away from traps, bumped at the second bend and ran on to sneak inside qualifying. He could make his debut as early as Saturday however more likely is a week on Thursday.

Jameson Improves

Jameson showed rapid improvement in his second trial clocking 30.28, an improvment of 60 spots. He now only needs to improve slightly to grade on next Tuesday. I will post Tuesday's important trial news as soon as possible.

Jameson Trial

Jameson clocked 30.90 on his first outing at Monmore last Tuesday. Given his lack of experience and fitness a slow time was expected. According to the lads he looked very green in his running style. Needing to record 30.20 to start to race a Monmore, he should improve a great deal this Tuesday.

Jameson Lands

The Jimmyin Boys latest recuit arrived last week having being reared superbly by Paul McCusker. He has had a few small niggles along the way but has arrived in A1 condition with plenty for Martin to work on. He appears to have settled in well and very much enjoyed his walk with Paul, the kids and myself in beautiful weather on Sunday. Please let me know if you would like to walk him on any Sunday.

Jameson Sprint

Jameson had a two dog sprint at the schooling track last week whilst I was away on holiday. Very slow away as would be expected, ran the bend very green and galloped home well. His clock was 18.85 which is well inside qualifying time which is 19.10. He won the trial handily enough. He will have another mixed sprint trial next week and Paul has provisionally booked the tranporter for 27th.

Back to School

Paul reported Jameson in great form following his return to the schooling track yesterday morning. Handslipped on the bend he did everything expected. He will return to the track next Sunday for a sprint trial. Could well be finally heading over within the next 3 weeks.

Stitches Out

Paul McCusker reports that Jameson had his stiches removed yesterday and should be back on the gallops in 2/3 weeks. Our latest bill was as follows :- 29/01/09 to 31/03/09

Injury News

Jameson pulled up badly on the gallop this morning. Paul's first reaction was that he had broken his leg. The dog was in a lot of pain when he got to him. Paul took him straight off to the Vet where he was x-rayed where it showed he had dislocated his due claw. Bad news but not as bad as first thought. He will have to have it removed but not for a week as the swelling is very big. He will be out of action for about a month pending how the operation goes. There will be no long term problems because of this injury.

18.95 Jameson

Jameson improved 0.60 seconds on his trial this morning. Which is 25 spots inside qualifying. A cracking run for the pup. He will have one more solo trial before going in company. He is leaving plenty of time in the boxes so there should more even more to come. The second sectional is much better than the first one, he is not pleased with early pace being such a big lad. Promising progress.

19.55

Jameson clocked 19.55 first time out of the traps this week. Qualifying time is 19.20. Paul would expect him to do that time next week. The first time in the traps is hoping for 3 things :- they don't turn in them, they chase hard and come home sound, he did all three. Paul was very pleased. He is such a long dog he only just fits in the traps. He will trial again next week. Can I ask all members to pay £50 in to the account as I will need to pay Paul the extra 2 months he has stayed and transport in 3 weeks time. Thanks.

Jameson in the Boxes

Jameson will have his run out of the traps tomorrow presuming the weather is good. This is a big moment for any pup and ideally Paul just wants him not to turn in the traps, chase hard and come off sound. If he comes away and records 19.50 or faster then it is a reason to be cheerful.

Gallop Report

Jameson had his first gallop since 2008 this morning. Paul reported his action seemed much easier on the eye and the rest has done him the world of good. He has a lovely big back on him and is currently 36.6 kg. All being well be will be back on the schooling track in two weeks and hopefully with us in six.

All Positive

Dave and I were grinning all day after hearing the news that Slim Amarillo had shown some super early pace again at the schooling track and improved another 4 lengths. Jamesons pad had also improved and he may get back into work this week however we are in no rush we would rather ensure the pad injury is 100%.

Hot Whiskey

Jameson headed to vet this morning with his other kennel mates to be checked over. The vet advised Paul that he still has a month's growing to do and should be put away for a month. He thought the stress of being schooled on the track at this stage could come a bit quick for him. Following this advice jameson will stay off the track until mid December where he will then complete his schooling. Hopefully he will be joining us at the end of January. Hope that's ok with all the members. I'm still chasing payments from Heather, Colin, Mark and Brian that is due from 25th October. Can I ask you to mail me with an update please.

Handslip for Jameson

Jameson started his schooling education this morning at the schooling track. It can be a very nervous time for all concerned with the dog as no is no guarantee that the puppy will chase the lure. You have to hope that the breeding and all the hours put in to the rearing of the dog pay dividends.

Paul called at lunchtime to report everything went to plan. Jameson watched the lure very closely and chased hard around two bend and then to the pick up. He will have another handslip from by the sprint boxes in about 10 to 14 day. It was nice to see his sire, Yeah Man, have two winners on Saturday night at Lifford. He looks to be throwing some really nice dogs.

Jameson October Update

Finally, just settled up with Paul for Jameson. He has plenty on his plate with a young baby girl (Sarah), a recovering wife and plenty of pups to school, feed and gallop.

The bill takes him from 6/8 to the 26/11 which is around the time when he will start schooling. In reality he will start schooling may be a fortnight before that depending on what way he is shaping on the gallop.

The breakdown is as follows :-

Paul will get a picture of Jameson on the gallops this weekend. Some of the dogs have the cough and it is contained. It’s warm and wet which are the conditions for it.

The first Yeah Mans will be very useful but will lack early pace. They have only had sprints to date so will have to see what they do over 4 bends but they have huge raw pace.

Our next payment is due on the 25^th October. Payable as normal please. We have a small pot building which will hopefully take care of transports costs when we have them. Jameson Update

Jameson is progressing well out with Paul in Northern Ireland. He is a very leggy type of dog who we can't rush. He was taken to the track at Lifford last week to be marked up and let him hear and watch a couple of trials. He was very keen to take part which is a good sign.

Paul will continue with his home work and take him for his first handslip trial in about 6 weeks.

Countdown to Kennels

Jameson is spending his last few weeks in the open paddocks before he has to head inside to the schooling kennels. He is doing everything Pauls asks of him and is building is fitness up well.

He considers himself very regal and does not like to get involved with the rest of the litter he is in with. I'm in the process of collecting one late payment (as usual) then I'll send Paul a cheque.
