A Drop of Jameson

Paul kindly forwarded a couple of pictures of "Jameson" and my other pup "Socks(4 white feet)". As you can see both are growing very well. Jameson is a month older and looks really long. Socks looks much more compact. Paul is now training them on the lead on, Jameson is showing Paul his true strength and trying to show him who is boss. I don't think he is winning.

Can I ask all syndicate members transfer £50 into the syndicate account by the 25th May and confirm by email when you have made the transfer.

Sunday Pics

I have posted a few pics of co-owner Kerryman Ray and his partner, Maria, prior to big match on Sunday.

Avenue Makes it a Double

Avenue Guide won again last night despite being upped 2 grades. Trainer Martin was as shocked as us to see him follow up his Thursday success in A6 grade at odds of 5/1. It was a case of quick away and gone!!

Fellow Prince owner Ray is heading to the Midlands today to see Munster in the European Cup Final Semi Final at Coventry. We will be hopefully dropping by the kennels on the way to pay homage to his majesty.

Avenue Breaks his sSreak

Avenue (Sammy) took advantage of a drop in grade to win well on Thursday night. That is his 8th career win and 7th since coming to Monmore. Since arriving last June he has grown on all of us. Depite a couple of offers for him we have decided to keep him as he has been such a cracking little dog. RM has upped him 2 grades tonight.

All Settled

The new pup is now well settled. He has a kennel name of Jameson.

He appears to be as tough as old boots. Now living in the outside paddocks with my former bitches (Blue Amarillo) litter, he is joining in well with the others and running them round being a month older. Even though it’s really cold he is opting to sleep out under the stars rather than go inside.

Here are a couple of pictures of him in his new surroundings. He has a very distinctive white mark on the end of his nose.
I have a visit booked on the 17th May so I will get some photos and video shots.

No Way No Way..........

The Prince "Lisas Invader" flashed out the boxes yesterday to set up his 15th career win. They simply could not catch him!! He ran a top class last bend to close the gap and any chance the reamining dogs had. The winning time was 38.98. Since returning from his break his has won 4 of his 8 starts, just shows how a break can refresh a dogs spirit and mind. We have ordered at DVD of all his wins at this rate he will have to win again to pay for it!!

The Eagle has Landed

Plenty of news to inform you all of. I received cash payments from 7 members and 2 transfers that have been made that I’m, just waiting for. Hence we have sold 9 shares to date.

The members are :- Myself, Ray Allen, Paul Baker, Heather Wheeler, Mark Slimper, Colin Wheeler, Brian Grieve, Lynne Farmer and Rob Evans.

The pup was collected yesterday and spent a night in Lixnaw before travelling up to at Paul McCusker’s Drumscraw Kennels in Northern Ireland.

Paul called me at 5.30 this evening to inform our boy had arrived safely and in good order. He ate up well and is taking everything in around the kennels. He is 56 ½ lbs in weight, very well built, should race about 70 lbs, has no nerves at all, is very confident and has plenty of length about him.

In summary Paul thought we had bought very well at the very least he will win races. He will spend the night in kennels before being introduced to his new friends in the paddocks tomorrow.

I will email and post on the blog (http://zigzagwookie.blogspot.com/) any news to you all when I get it. Hopefully I will have some pictures tomorrow.

Please feel to email me any questions.

New Purchase

Our syndicate have successfully purchased a new puppy that is just turned seven months old. The pup is bred Yeah Man x Deerfield Aghada and was bought from out of Killlarney. The pup will be reared at Paul McCusker’s Drumscraw Kennels in Northern Ireland.

There will be 10 equal shares available in the dog of which 9 have been paid in full. There is one share extra remaining that can be sold. The dog will be sent to either Lance Burford or Martin Burt.

Yeah Man was a super race dog trained by Owen Mckenna. I was lucky enough to hold him when I visited his kennels back in 2005. He perhaps never reached his full potential on the track due to injuries. He beat the best of the generation including Tryur Ted, Satellite Flight, Droopys Maldini and Droopys Maldini.

Deerfield Aghada is a daughter of brilliant dam Malbay Swift - a line which which goes back to Back the Glen and Floral Spark. She was retired young due to visible recurring injury, she must have been a serious bitch to hold the prefix she does. Aghada is half sister to Deerfield Site, Deerfield Mover (Track record Tralee 28.14), Shanavulin Mandy, Malbay Devika; full brother to Rebel Legend.

This cross is similar to Newbridge Jewel (Tyrur Ted Champion Bitch Winner 2008) and represents the infamous Larkhill Joe/Top Honcho cross. The line has produced Open race winners and top quality brood bitches. The Larkhill Joe cross has consistently suited the Malbay Dam Line.

If you are interested in purchasing a share please email me at ndugganisrm@hotmail.com

In's and Outs

We have decided to return Faraday back to her home in Northern Ireland. She has been a real pleasure to have but sadly she has not shown us enough to stay in Iceman Kennels. She is a very pacey bitch but is not consistant enought to sprint but does not stay well enough to win Open races over 4 bends. Hopefully when back hope she will show all she promised and wins Paul and Collette plenty of races.

Avenue Guide will be staying with us and the person who agreed to buy the dog pulled out of the deal. So frustrating, why do these people bother.

Princes takes the Record

Lisa's Invader "The Prince" stormed home last night in the "Happy Birthday Bob Stakes" at Monmore to take the Jimmyin Boys Record (14 career wins) and take take the lead clearly on his own.

He was well up against it last night, running in a S3 grade of which he had never won before and it appeared he would struggle to lead against that field. So confident of him not getting a run we all went to Coventry for the first night of the Stock Car season!! The dogs Irish co-owner Ray Allen also had bad luck when he found his latest ladbrokes had shut early so he couldn't see the race.

The Prince had not read the script and led a mile only to see racing Post Nap Soaraway closing in round the last two bends. The Prince was having none of it and stayed on well to win by 1/2 lenghth in 38.76. Needless to say he had his favourite chocolate buttons this snowy morning.

Busy Blog

The blog is something I started as tool to just keep the syndicate more invlolved with the dogs. Some of the members are just not in the dog walking bit but do like to see the dog in pictures and hear the lastest news.

It amazes me how many people log on and have a read even though he have no real superstars. In March we had a record of 566 diferent people logged on!! The readership is worldwide. Whilst a high % is from UK and Ireland it includs regular reader from Sweeden, United States, Canada, UAE and Germany.
