Video - Which one would you pick ?

Making Your Mind Up

Here are the latest snaps of Blue Amarillo's first litter. Dave has just spent a week with them out in the harsh Northern Ireland wind. We shall be selecting our pup over the next two weeks.

Drought Continues

2008 as yet to see any of my dogs enter the winner’s enclosure, no winners for a month!! Thought I’d do a quick round up of what I currently own. I have half the amount of dogs I did at the same time last year. I'll do the pups next time.

Here goes :-

Faraday - Trained by Lance Burford in Wombourne. Potentially one of the fastest I've owned. She has had a virus which she lost a chunk of weight. She trialed back last week but the time was rather disappointing. We hope to give her a few runs back to back at Coventry even if it’s in graded company so we can see what she can really do. We know she has pace to burn and the right attitude, she just needs to come away ok and she will be away and gone.

Avenue Guide - Bought cheaply out of Tralee from a coursing contact. Has done exactly what it said on the tin. Has won 5 races from 30 starts. He has really grown on us during the last few months and loves his Sunday morning chocolate buttons. However he will need to stop missing his break if he wants to get back in the winning groove.

Lisa's Invader - Was closing in on Comical Raffles 13 win record until he hurt his dew claw so has been off since mid December. Hopefully will have a come back sprint next week. I'm hopeful he will beat the record and may even reach the 100 race club if he can stay fit. Fingers crossed.

Zigzag Pirate and Positive Outlook were sold on during last year whilst Yourplaceormine returned to Kerry as she was on lease.

Gamble Foiled

After pinging the lids and looking like he would go round in front Avenue Guide was badly baulked from the side taking him completely out of the race. The good news is that he appears to fine after his roughing up. We thought he would be about 2 /1 or he was backed from accordingly 7/2 to 2/1. That racing!!!!!!!!!!!

Faraday was off colour so was withdrawn from her engagement a Coventry on Wednesday.

More Promise

Faraday finished a promising 4th at Nottingham on Monday in the Trial Stake. She missed the boxes yet still showed rapid pace early on and down the back straight. I'm convinced she is very fast and she just needs to lead up to enable us to make a better judgement. Lance remains as hopefull as me in her. She is very much on her toes at the track and wants to be involved in everything. This could be working against her. Anyway, despite the worry of running in to more of the hottest pups around we are planning to head back to Nottingham to give her two runs back to back at the track.

YPOM Home

YPOM has arrived home with Paddy in County Kerry. Paul reported she had given them no problems during her three week stay in Drumscraw but he did think she could have been an awkward bitch to train as she is a little on the nervous side and wouldn't be suited to a large scale kennel.

She took to Pauls wife Colette very well who has a great natural affinity with shy dogs.

Many thanks to both Paul and Colette for their valuable time and care.

Win 4 for Avenue

Avenue Guide (Sammy) landed his 4th win in England (5th Career)
at Monmore on Saturday in a very reasonable 29.22.
