9/2 Away and Gone

Away and gone was the shout today. Avenue pinged out and built up an early lead. He tired coming home but had enough in the tank to land mine and the lads gamble. The 9/2 was huge price and the Racing Post comments of this lad needs 6 bends couldn't be further than the truth. I think he would be a very good grade currently over 400-450Metres, he struggles to get home. He could improve over time. He only had one race in Ireland and three in the UK and won two. He also had a great pedigree (Droopys Vieri x Spooky Nikita). The dam throws plenty of winners including some Open racers.Lisa's Invader had his legs clipped when looking likely to lead, he ran on well to finish 3rd.

Week Ahead

I went up to Hall Green on Friday to watch the Pirate trial before racing. I left slighty disappointed. After slipping out the box he did show some early only to fade coming home.

He has drawn Trap 6 on Tuesday night in a Puppy Open, so fingers crossed he improves.

Over at Monmore both Lisa's Invader and Avenue Guide as out tomorrow afternoon. I walked them both this morning so both are very well. I'm very hopeful for a good run from Avenue tomorrow.

Tonight see's the Summer Derby Final at Coventry. Fingers crossed for Iceman Ross and he deserves a big Final.

Belle heads to Dunphys

Great news from Paul this morning. He will be driving Belle (Blue Amarillo) down to the Dunphys range on Saturday to be mated to Boherduff Light(pictured left). Boherduff is already throwing plenty of fast dogs and is hitting 10% on Data on runners in major races.

Its looks like a cracking mating and one we all cann all look forward to.

We just need to keep our fingers crossed nature takes it's cause.

Prince Does it Again

The Prince (Lisa's Invader) sunk the Racing Post Nap when landing his 10th career win this afternoon at Monmore. Brought in as a reserve he broke out in front and flew clear of the field. He won by 3 lengths in an amazing 38.29. The going must have been very quick, it be interesting to read in the paper in the morning. The Prince is now only 3 wins away off Comical Raffles record of 13 wins.

Avenue Guide also made a quick reapperance and finished third. He showed some great pace after missing the break. Should be winning soon we hope.

Belle in Season

Great news this morning as I recieved a call from Paul at Drumscraw Kennels in Nothern Ireland.

Belle (Blue Amarillo) broke in season this morning at last. It seems the warm weekend did the track.

Paul is mulling over a number of sires to send her to including Brett Lee and Premier Fantasy. Fingers crossed she catches and produces a big healthy litter. The picture is of Belle heading down to the track before one of her trials at Monmore (taken by Dave).

Ups and Downs

Avenue Guide showed a nice bit of pace on his debut before he got a bump to end his chances. It shouldn't be very long before he troubles the judge.

Lisa's Invader missed his race on Monmore today as it called off due to the bad weather.

ZigZag Pirate was withdrawn from his intended debut at Coventry as he didn't sparkle on Wednesday.

Week Ahead

Avenue Guide will hopefully make his track debut this week. The Pirate heads to Coventry on Wednesday for a trial before racing after a good run round the schooling track this week.

I'll be keeping my fingers crossed for Iceman Brutus and Kingsmill Sparky live on Sky on Tuesday evening.

Win 9 for the Prince

The Prince (Lisas Invader) won his 9th career race this afternoon. He built up a healthy lead but was reeled in off the last bend. He hung on by the shortest of short heads.

Well done to Martin and the team. 4/1 was a great price.

He is now chasing the record of Comical Raffles who won 13 races in his career.

Social Night

Our planned social night at Monmore on September 22nd had now been booked. 21 people will be coming from all round the country. I have sent a mail to all those who have booked. Please make your payments as advised as soon as possible.

Classic Retired

Bubbly Classic's career came to a close on Friday night. Sadly last years Derby campaign when he reached the Semi Final appeared to take more out of him than just the energy at the time.

Lisa's Invader is out on Monday. The current wet track is very much against his style of running for hopefully a couple of dry days will help me.

Avenue Guide has just one more trial to do before he can start racing and thats on Tuesday.

We are looking for a an opportunity for the Pirate to make his debut. Next weeks plan to go to Swindon if off due to a mix up with entries.
